The Hawaii Martin Mars water bomber, long a symbol of firefighting in B.C., flew over Vancouver Island on the evening of August 11, 2024, escorted by the Canadian Snow Birds, as it traveled on its final journey from Port Alberni to its new home at the B.C. Aviation Museum in North Saanich.

Dave takes photographs for the James Bay Athletic Association situated in James Bay, Victoria, BC. You can often see him on the pitch dodging charging rugby player as he lines up shots!
Dave Nicholson is a local landscape photographer who has had a love for photography since he was a young man living in Scotland. His passion continued into adulthood in Canada - from whimsical snow photos to stunning sunsets, his enthusiasm shines through.
